Flyways: The Untold Journey of Migratory Shorebirds

Graphics package for documentary

Shorebirds are the world’s greatest endurance athletes. They migrate non-stop for up to 9 days without food or water: the longest known migration of any species. This film is about how shorebirds, through their incredible migrations across hemispheres, are bringing out the best in humanity and science, to help save them from extinction.

We had the pleasure to create the graphics and animations for this project!

Getting our wings ready to fly

Shorebirds fly thousands of miles along ancient flyways, they travel from their feeding grounds in the Southern Hemisphere to the High Arctic and back again. We had a great time illustrating and animating shorebirds and their flyways around the Earth.

There are 9 main flyways; 8 running North to South, and 1 like a halo at the top of the world.
